Product How-To Video: Coming Soon

A short walkthrough of safe handling, dosing, and testing will appear here.

Every Apex product below includes a quick “how to use” summary and recommended commercial dosing. Dosing rates are general guidance per 10,000 gallons. Always confirm against the product label, your water test results, and bather load. Click any product name to view full details.

Sanitizers & Shock

Dichlor Granular Chlorine

Stabilized granular chlorine (56% available chlorine), pH-neutral, for daily sanitation. How to use: Broadcast over the deep end with the pump running, or pre-dissolve in a bucket and pour around the perimeter. Dose: ~3 oz per 10,000 gal every other day to hold 1-4 ppm free chlorine; ~21 oz per 10,000 gal to shock. Do not swim until free chlorine returns to 1-4 ppm.

Pool Shock Liquid Chlorine (12.5%)

Ready-to-use 12.5% sodium hypochlorite for fast sanitizing and shocking. How to use: Pour slowly in front of a return jet with the pump running, ideally after dusk. Dose: ~11 fl oz per 10,000 gal raises free chlorine ~1 ppm; ~1 gal per 10,000 gal for start-up or shock (~5 ppm).

Oxy-Brite Non-Chlorine Shock

Chlorine-free oxidizer that clears organic waste without raising chlorine, so swimmers can return in about 15 minutes. How to use: Broadcast over the water surface with the pump running. Dose: 1 lb per 10,000 gal routine; 2 lb per 10,000 gal for initial treatment or heavy bather load.

Algaecides

Algimycin 600

Fast-acting non-metallic algaecide for green algae and routine prevention; non-staining, non-foaming. How to use: Dilute with at least 9 parts water and pour around the pool edge with the pump running. Dose: 6 oz per 10,000 gal initial; 3 oz per 10,000 gal weekly.

Algimycin 2000

Chelated copper algaecide for resistant and mustard algae; long residual, non-staining at label rates. How to use: Broadcast around the perimeter with the pump running. Dose: 8-12 oz per 10,000 gal initial/preventative; 4-8 oz weekly; 16-24 oz for active green or yellow algae.

Algimycin 3000

Maximum-strength chelated copper algaecide for the toughest, most resistant algae. How to use: Apply around the perimeter with the pump running. Dose: 18 oz per 10,000 gal initial; 6 oz weekly; up to 32 oz per 10,000 gal for visible algae growth.

Strike Out

Triple-chelated copper algaecide for green and mustard algae. How to use: Dilute with at least 9 parts water and sprinkle the solution around the edge of the pool with the pump running, concentrating near affected areas. Dose: follow label rate for your algae severity.

Water Balancers

pH Down

Sodium bisulfate granular acid that lowers pH and total alkalinity. How to use: Pre-dissolve in a bucket or broadcast over the deep end with the pump running; retest after 1 hour. Target: pH 7.2-7.6, total alkalinity 80-120 ppm. Add in increments per your test kit.

Acidblue Low-Fume Muriatic Acid

Lower-fume hydrochloric acid for lowering pH/alkalinity and acid washing. How to use: ALWAYS add acid to water (about 10:1 water-to-acid), pour in front of a return jet with the pump running, then retest after 30-60 minutes. Caution: highly corrosive. Gloves, goggles, and ventilation required.

Cyanuric Acid Stabilizer

Conditioner that shields free chlorine from UV burn-off in outdoor pools. How to use: Add slowly through the skimmer with the pump running; do not backwash for 48 hours. Dose: 1 lb per 4,000 gal raises CYA ~30 ppm; target 30-50 ppm.

Clarifiers & Flocculants

Natural Clear

Polymer clarifier that coagulates fine particles so the filter can remove them. How to use: Dilute and broadcast over the surface with the pump running continuously. Dose: 16 oz per 10,000 gal daily until water is clear.

Drop ‘N Vac Floc

Fast flocculant that drops suspended debris to the floor for vacuuming to waste. How to use: Apply 10 oz per 10,000 gal, run pump 2 hours, shut off and let settle overnight, then vacuum to waste. Do not run settled debris through the filter.

Stain & Scale Control

Super Sequa-Sol

Concentrated sequestering agent that controls dissolved metals and scale. How to use: Pour around the perimeter with the pump running. Dose: 16 fl oz per 10,000 gal when filling or at season start; 4 fl oz per 10,000 gal weekly to prevent scale and staining.

Stain Magnet

Treats and lifts existing metal and mineral stains. How to use: Concentrate the solution along the walls and over stained areas; run circulation continuously for 24 hours. Follow with a sequestering agent (Super Sequa-Sol) to prevent stains from returning.

Filter Care

Filter Cleanse

Deep-cleaning compound that strips oil, grease, and scale from filter media. How to use: Dissolve 1 lb in 5 gal lukewarm water until dark red. Sand filters: cover the media, let stand 12 hours, then backwash until clear. Cartridge/DE: soak elements, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Filter Rinse

Maintenance filter cleaner used at every backwash. How to use: While backwashing, slowly pour 8 oz into the skimmer so it passes directly through the filter, then continue the backwash per the manufacturer’s instructions. Use every time you backwash.

Surface Care

Tile and Surface Cleaner

Removes oil, grime, and mineral scale from tile, vinyl, and concrete. How
